Prof. Avijit Banerjee

Dr Avijit Banerjee is professor of cariology and operative dentistry and an honorary clinical consultant in restorative dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences of King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He is head of conservative and minimally invasive dentistry. As a leading researcher in cariology, minimum intervention oral care and minimally invasive dentistry, he has published extensively, including textbooks, and holds editorial positions at several dental journals. He is dedicated to shaping dental policy and practices through his involvement in professional committees and UK national advisory roles and is an honorary adviser to the office of the chief dental officer for England. His extensive leadership in national and international dental organisations enables him to influence the direction of oral healthcare guidelines and implementation strategies worldwide.
